Read here great tips about garage doors and ways to maintain and clean them.
Disassembling garage door parts
Please do not dissemble anything without the user’s manual. In fact our specialists recommend that you use this sketch plan for any maintenance work. In that way you know where every part comes from. Our team is more than happy to disassemble and reassemble your parts for you fairly quickly and at a low cost.
Resetting the electric opener
The surest sign that you need to reset the opener is if the structure briefly closes and then opens without prompting yet it stops dead before hitting the ground. Use the breaker to shut off the power. Wait for about 10 seconds before turning the power on. Press the down button until closing then hit set.
Overlapping garage door security codes
Sometimes our experts in Bergenfield have been called on to help people whose remotes are “speaking” to a neighbor’s door. Of course this is a security problem so you will need to re-program the entire unit. Try to use unique opener units.
Garage door noises could indicate defects
Screeching or squealing sounds from the garage door could be perceived as indicators of the need for garage door maintenance. They could mean that lubrication is already needed. They may also serve as signs of the imminent possibility of broken springs. If the noises come from the door rollers, cleaning may be needed or the rollers may already need replacement.
